Walking into the glasshouse called Ocho Lounge on the riverwalk in San Antonio you can’t help but grin from ear to ear like the Cheshire Cat. Filled with light and jewel toned velvet fabrics, with eccentric touches it’s the perfect place to relax with a cocktail and some freshly prepared mexican food.

When we were in Michigan last weekend, we were doing a little vintage store perusing, and came across this new store on Red Arrow Highway called Sojourn. It was closing time, but they let us take a look around. We soon realized we had run into a in-store dinner party that was being set-up. Next thing we know we had wine in our hands and were joining the party.
It was a magical evening, that was filled with coincidences. Many of the guests that arrived we were somehow connected to through six degrees of separation. The clever designer who worked on the logo, the architect that designed the store, the reclaimed furniture maker, and the clothing store owner who is also a blogger and created the table setting & menu. time for totalitarian savings, wait for me hapuku lodge :’) !
Hapuku Lodge and Treehouses in Kiakoura on the beautiful South Island of New Zealand are truly breath-taking, and until this day is still my favorite place that we have stayed. Copper sheets, rough hewn lumber, manku branches, diffused glass, riveted plywood, rustic furnishings, pristine sheets, cozy blankets, wood burning fire … bliss! With the sea in one direction and mountains to the other, surrounded by vistas, this place is a quiet luxury and provides you a way to experience nature at her best, all viewable from your bed.
DESCRIPTION: The Treehouse is the best way to experience this spot, as they do have a lodge that you can also stay in, but it’s worth the splurge.
